Flyers Mid-Week Update 18/09/2014

This weekends game at the Fife Ice Arena is series of firsts this season: it's the first time that the Flyers will face Scottish opposition, the first Challenge Cup game of the season, the first time that the Flyers will face a Gardiner Conference foe and it's the first time that Aaron Murphy and the Premier Sports team will visit Kirkcaldy this year.

Aaron has taken to twitter this week bigging up the old barn:

Ned Lukacevic's debut was overshadowed by the incident between Matt Nickerson and Chris Frank, before the spotlight was stolen by Danny Stewart and his overtime winner that gave him 100 EIHL goals in all competitions:

The Sheffield Steelers once again announced that their fixture this weekend will be played at Ice Sheffield:

Belfast Giants had a message for any fans who had intended to go the game:

Today is naturally a huge day for Scotland and the UK as a whole, a number of hockey personalities have got involved on twitter, some of them have made jokes:

Some people have made pseudo-political statements:

And some people have let the world know that they can't spell "metaphor":
